5 Sweet, Fruity Reasons You’ll Love Living Around Lake Arenal
Salting and shoveling your driveway doesn’t have to be a cold hard fact every winter. Neither does sleeping with your head sandwiched between two pillows to drown out screaming sirens and loudmouthed passersby.
Why spend another day in a place you don’t love when you could wake up every day on beautiful Lake Arenal in Costa Rica? Say good-bye to bumper-to-bumper traffic and stale city air, and say hello to vivid landscapes and lake views on your daily commutes. While you figure out a way to untether yourself from your current locale, let us tell you some of the benefits of moving to Lake Arenal.
The peace and quiet
Noise pollution comes in a variety of decibels and sounds, but no matter what the source is or how irksome the pitch, it’s a factÑnoise pollution causes stress levels to rise. Blood pressures to spike. Sleep deprivation. In other words, stress slowly pecks away at your quality of life. Here at Lake Arenal, you won’t have to worry about blaring horns in gridlock traffic or loud-arguing neighbors. Sure you’ll have chirping birds and rolling thunder, but you’ll sleep like a baby every night under the silent stars.
Our amenities might surprise you
When you tell people you want to move to Costa Rica, many of them envision you in the middle of a jungle living in a makeshift house with no windows, limited electricity and maybe even a dirt floor. We can assure you our homes [1] are nothing short of contemporary, and we have some amenities you might expect, and some you wouldn’t.
For example, when moving to the countryside, you’d imagine we have a local farmers’ market stocked with fresh fruits, veggies, cheeses and other goodies. (Every 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at Cinco Esquinas.) But would you believe there are also professionals like dog groomers and furniture upholsters around Lake Arenal? Because there are.
3 words: Scenic lake views
We all get why people love waterfront views – they’re amazing. And Lake Arenal is simply spectacular, especially when you get a glimpse of the water and the mighty Arenal volcano in the background. You’ll never get tired of blue water and lush green landscapes here. When the sun starts to fall from the sky in the evenings, pull up a chair and take in the spectacular sunsets.
Plenty of outdoor activities
If you love the outdoors, there is no shortage of activities to participate in. Want to play on land? Hike in one of the nearby national parks or nature preserves. Mountain bike or horseback ride along the lakeshore. Even going for a walk or run around the neighborhood never gets old. If you fancy yourself more of a watermanÑor waterwomanÑthen you’ve got fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, wakeboarding, kite surfing, and wind surfing to choose from.
The average temperature is a balmy 75 degrees
Lake Arenal temperatures are some of the best in Costa Rica. While beachgoers are baking in uncomfortable 100+ temperatures, Lake Arenal can be a good 30 degrees cooler. During the day, it’s typically shorts and t-shirt weather, but come nightfall, you might want slip into some jeans and a light jacket. (It depends on how thin-skinned you are.)
It’s a beautiful thing to take your morning coffee with the lake in the background and the landscape dotted with toucans and sloths. Then after you’re good and awake, head out for a midday paddle in your kayak. Or play a game of sunset tennis. And get your fresh fruits and cheeses from the farmers’ market.
Relocating to Lake Arenal is possible and probably more affordable than you probably think. When you’re ready to talk about moving to the area, we’re here to help.
