Hello to all,
I was wondering if anyone has knowledge of Cobano. It is in the southern part of Nicoya. It just happens to have an affordable school which is my primary concern.
The school is called Futuro Verde. I only get sketchy information on the internet, i.e., rural living, o.k. weather, etc. What is the reality of living there. Thank you.

I have only passed through it and am not familiar with the school, however it is the going to be laid back, more rural and populated with friendly locals. I would suggest a visit to check it out in person.
We, too, has ‘driven through there’ and the paragraph below, states the obvious.

Cobano is a very small, rural town with a couple of hardware stores, a couple of super markets, an English speaking veterinarian, a medical clinic, a new and air conditioned post office, an English speaking pharmacist, 1 bank (at least I think there is only 1), and an annual rodeo. It is about 20 minutes from Tambor, which has an airstrip. It is near Montezuma and Mal Pais. I have no knowledge of the school you mentioned. I have been there many times because we go to Tambor every year, and Tambor has even fewer amenities than Cobano. My husband and I are going to move to Tambor, which tells you that we like the area. If you are looking for malls and amenities like you are used to at home, you won’t find it here. If you like a slower life style and want to be near the ocean, you probably will like it.
