Hello, we will be moving to home in Alajuela for 6 months in December, does anyone know of a tennis club, or tennis facilities in the area?

Thanks,
Steve

There is something labeled “tennis academy” near the Marriott in or around Belen. Somebody help me out here. I can get there but I can’t describe it.

There is a tennis club at the Cariari Country Club , but I think it is private. If you contact them, they may be able to provide info on another club…if there is one.

Hi Steve,
Probably the best option for you to get up a consistent game will be in Belen/La Rivera at a small country club called Club Espanol, not far from Intel. I can’t find a website link at the moment but will ask a friend tomorrow who is a member for the phone or email contact. I believe its about $100 or so a month without having to pay the big up front fees $$$$ like at Cariari etc… it is also about 10- 15 min from Alajuela depending on where you live.

We have used the facilities at Club Espanol and they are very nice.

We are still looking for affordable tennis courts in Atenas area or even Grecia, any help?

FYI: there is a private court in Atenas but its not in the greatest shape, behind the baseline there is not a lot of room for a baseline game (it takes some getting used too to avoid slamming into it (fence on 1 side and wall on the other) and you will have to chase your balls as the containment fence won’t keep them in, we have lost a couple of balls in the wooded area there. Anyway they now charge 3000 colonies an hour for the court.

any help with located a decent court in the area would be greatly appreciated.
