An interesting, to me anyway, topic was posted today [url=http://insidecostarica.com/dailynews/2010/january/25/costarica-10012504.htm]Here[/url] regarding the large number and locations of earthquakes in Costa Rica.
Makes one think one where they should reside.holy cow. i must live in the only area where there are NO active faultlines. and that was one of the reasons i chose this place. we did feel the big one on friday, but it was just a gentle swaying motion, and none of the items that were perched on top of my kitchen cabinets moved or fell. i’ve been through enough bad quakes to know the importance of living away from faults.
Wow the latest quake on the 23rd (5.0) and one today (4.7) in the southern most area of CR! Has anyone in the central valley felt the quake?
I was there for a 6.4 a few years ago, we were up near Poas. I believe it was centered near Parrita. I was surprised there was very little damage, even at our beach house in Playa Hermosa/Jaco.
