I found this news item interesting as Costa Rica has been criticized by “developed” (allegedly) countries for not spending more time and money searching for missing persons…

Yet here’s an unfortunate case of a 30 year old Costa Rican man who has gone missing in Switzerland where his family had to pay for a helicopter search because the Swiss police declared they can’t search the mountain due to lack of resources and that there’s little chance he is still alive….

“…no ha hecho la búsqueda de él en montaña porque no hay recourses.”

Let’s hope they’re wrong and this young man is found alive and well but IMHO, this is probably why the Costa Rican police don’t spend more time and money searching for missing persons..

Because “.. they can’t search the mountain due to lack of resources and that there’s little chance he is still alive….”

The Tico police probably believe exactly that but being such an unconfrontational type of people, they would never actually come out and say it …

    What do you think?

It’s not a good week in the snowy mountains of Europe..

The 4,465m Mont Maudit is part of the Mont Blanc range, widely considered one of the most dangerous for climbers in the world, which claims more than 100 victims a year.

La Nacion reported the following day that weather conditions did not allow an immediate search, not a lack of resources (money ?) I guess it was a misunderstanding due to language differences ?
