Perhaps I am dreaming too much here but why not?… dreaming is free and I might gain more ideas as I think about some day coming to CR for more than a yearly visit like I am doing now.
If I had a dream book to purchase it would contain the following:
1. Helpful tips on purchasing an Eco-lodge Bed and Breakfast on a small scale. (Scott your book is very helpful here I am just searching for more stuff).
2. Surveys showing what makes a successful B&B in CR. What do visitors find most appealing in a region or location and even down to the decor of the lodge/rental. What makes for a successful time staying with me vs someone else?
3. What to charge! for what region… ie. Osa Penninsula vs
San Vito etc. Seems like some places charge $30.00 per night. Others $130.00. From an outsiders perspective this is confusing to me.
4. Tips on building relationship with those wonderful warm Tico’s I so love to interact with when I am there. and making my Bed& Breakfast work for my tico neighbors too! offering work that benefits us both. Friendly and down to earth Canadian here. and yes I did come from a modest economic background which taught me much.
Okay time to continue looking for books and material to help me as I surf through real estate ads and wrack my brain wondering how to finance this dream.
Thanks Scott!
Don
