Our small enclave is considering installing an electric gate across our road for security reasons.
I have been asked to look into the cost and installment.
Right now I am asking if anyone out there has experience with this, and if there is a ballpark as to cost.
I’m sure that there are many aspects to consider, and that there will opinions as to a gates effectiveness, and the legality of placing one. We are discussing these elements together.
BUT, if anyone has a thought on cost, it will be greatly appreciated.
ThanksNovember 24, 2010 at 3:13 pm #1689192bncrMemberI had a hard time with accesorios autimaticos. They must of come back at least 6 times before the job was done right. You have to stay on top of workers here. I had to spend 3 hours on top of the window guy to make sure he did his job right. He kept saying he was finsihed without: 1 ) adequately sealing the windwa, 2) cleaning the windows and frames so I could see imperfections in the install and material, mounting the screens with screws instead of the turn knobs used so you can easily remove them. You really have to watch the people that install here because they do incomplete work. So watch your gate guy and you should probally have Tom come check it out before the final payment. Also withold at least 10% untill you see how it works for a month.

Make sure it will function during heavy rain and power outages.November 26, 2010 at 10:43 pm #168921Doug WardMemberDennis Ventura in Tilaran does them all of the time. Great work.
He only works in Costa Rica……………not San Jose or Jaco :roll:8)November 27, 2010 at 3:28 pm #168922mediaticaMemberI, like 2bncr, used Accesos Automaticos for our gate (for our own personal home about 6 months ago). It took them coming back 3x to get it right. It seems to work most of the time now, but I did keep the last payment as a hold back until I saw it working for a full week. The cost was around $1,250 to do our gate. This included the motor, 2 remotes, and a keypad on the outside of our gate (in case someone needs entry and does not have a remote). Our community is in the process of installing a motorized gate also and the cost is $2,500 (bigger motor, larger gate). hope this helps.
