What the time constraints are as of now on getting a CR dr. License? We came into country this past July 15 and are approaching our 90 day stay limit.
We have applied for residency and the applications are in process. We will go this weekend to TX to TCOB and return in about 4 days.
Does this process reset the clock in terms of getting a CR DL? In other words would we have another 90 days to get our residencies so we can get our CR drivers’s licence? I am betting on 5 different answers.
🙄
You must have your approved residency and then wait 3 months plus one day after your last Visa entry date.
When you go out of the country, the 90 days for your driver’s license does reset for another 90 days. Once you get your temporary residency, you can get a Costa Rican driver’s license. Your license from your home country must still be valid and not expired.
Thanks, I had heard that that was no longer the law. What was posted was that new laws do not start from when you leave and reenter, but from the first date posted on your visa stamp.
