    Scott,

    Do you know anything about Compass Properties? They apparently market developments in CR and I am interested in a development they have south of Jaco in Playa Bejuco called Costa del Sol. Do you know anything about this development or Compass Properties?

    All I know about them is what I have seen on their site… They look more like a marketing organization than a real estate development company.

    Thanks Scott. That what it looks like to me also. So how does this work? Does the developer hire a marketing firm to sell their property or can one deal with the developer directly? Any idea.

    I’m sure you would be able to deal with the developer directly but he probably wants his marketing people to handle that end of things things for him anyway so he can focus all his time and energy on getting things built.

    And a lot of the time, the marketing people will know more about what you care about than the ‘nuts & bolts’ guy anyway.

    Having said that, I am obviously helping the developers that I know and trust to get their name out there but the last thing in the world I want to do is actually sell real estate. But I am happy to recommend good people that do sell real estate.

    It’s amazing! Having been here for seven years, there are still only about a dozen real estate professionals that I recommend in the entire country. That’s not to say the rest are crap but, the overall standards – for both knowledge about real estate and service – could be higher he said diplomatically.

    Thanks for the information scott. I seem to be getting a little bit better at checking out the real estate situation as I go. It seems that one should just take one’s time and not rush into anything.
