We have plenty of people other than Americans on this site

maybe bad choice of words on my side……I’m looking for real estate websites, in Spanish, for locals and not just for us “gringos”, but for the south pacific/Osa area. Thanks,

July 11, 2006 at 11:01 am #177411AndrewKeymasterI’m not familar with any Spanish real estate websites for that area – It is a fairly remote and very sparsely populated area and from what I understand, it’s more of a ‘face to face’ market than one that you’ll find on the interent

Frankly, I’m not sure why people are so interested in Osa. To say it is HOT and HUMID is an understatement. If you visit, seal your cloths in plastic until you wear it to keep mushrooms from growing.
Of course, I’m from Wisconsin, so I turn into a puddle whenever the sun comes out…

Apart from Ticos selling their properties privately (usually just land), there are some real estate companies in San Isidro that are local. You may also want to check out the following website that has real estate links, however can’t guarantee there isn’t gringo involvement. I did look at the North end of the OSA and it is relatively undeveloped and any land that I looked at was very basic i.e. no infrastructure. I think there are still a few years before we see development really take off in the deep south.

I just loved the cost highway south of Dominical, it’s really nicely designed and in unbelievable good condition – sure different than anything in the Osa. We just got offered some land from a private party, might not have a title, so I’m not sure if I want to go through with it. I have heard some wild stories about sudden late claims on untitled property.Karl
July 17, 2006 at 12:07 pm #177416AndrewKeymasterMost attorneys would tell you not to touch property that’s not titled or, correctly titled. You could be messing about with attorneys for the next ten years trying to clear that up…
There’s plenty of land for sale in Costa Rica.
