A friend of mine deperately needs a good car mechanic in or around the San Jose area…
Any suggestions please on what to look out for and who might be able to help?
It would help if you posted the type of vehicle your firend needs help with fixing…

He owns one of those ancient Toytotas, he had a great mechanic but the selfish man went and died on him.
I would like to recommend Mauricio who works out of Heredia ‘somewhere.’
I do not know where exactly because he always comes to me in Escazu, picks my Toyota RAV up, takes it away and brings it back. (He also has done a lot of work on my girlfriend’s Honda).
Not only does do a great job with repairs at a fair price, he shows you all the receipts of any items/parts that he had to buy AND brings back your car clean as a whistle.
He will also take your car and do the RTV thing for you. His cellular telephone number is 849-7244, he does not speak English but his wife does.
