I am an American going through the experience of developing 1 hectare
near Banderas Beach in to a 24 house development. I am retired from a modest job , not rich and have been following the quidelines here and reading what people want and don’t want in a development. I will not presell anything untill I have lot numbers that people can look up see and feel. I am working with the advice of a good lawyer and a top realtor. I don’t want to sell you anything. Ijust want to share my experiences and maybe it will help someone out there. What about it Scott?

As you know I only recommend experienced developers whom I know personally and trust implicitly who have a proven track record of developing quality real estate in Costa Rica.

Having said that, I would be happy to meet up with you next time you are in San Jose area to discuss your plans to see if we can perhaps feature a story about your new project.

You have my email address so why don’t we start with you sending me what information you can by email…

    Scott,
I’m interested in what developers you would recommend. I looked up Paragon and know you won’t recommend Bill Gale. What about Costa?

It depends on what your definition of a “developer” is…. The last time we looked, Paragon had built four houses, I don’t think Costa Developers have built any yet have they?

So far I have only recommended experienced developers with a proven track record of delivering a quality real estate product in Costa Rica. Unless something remarkable happens, I will probably stick with recommending “experienced” and “proven” developers.

There’s a lot of land for sale in Costa Rica if you want to build your own home and if you want to buy a home that is already built, we obviously recommend a few projects on this site that have been built by developers I know and have visited on dozens of occasions.

These developers have been thoroughly researched and checked out both by myself and an attorney and where 90% of the time I am the person that even took all the photographs that you will see featured in their articles.

    Best wishes

Thank you for replying. Sorry I was away from the PC. I have received the mailouts from the two I mentioned and that piked my interest. Then I found this site and find it full of info. What I’m looking for is a development where I can have an oceanview from a flat lot or rolling lot on a mountain on the pacific side. So where do I look on your site. Or who would you recommend?
