Hi I am building several homes in the Parrita area near Banderas Beach. I like to hire local people. I need someone to help me whith overseeing the project when I am not there. There will be accomodations on site. How do I advertise to the locals? Post flyers?
    Has anyone hired people?

    Stan,
Your posting caught my attention for several reasons. My partner (a Costa Rican national) and I recently purchased two lots in Palo Seco on which we hope to build in the next few years and are particularly interested in purchasing more property in the Parrita area. So, your question is obviously of interest.

His cousin, a contractor who lived for years with his family in Playa Hermosa, recently moved to Parrita. This may be a long shot, but he may be able to offer you either help or an inside edge on finding the help you need. I’m not clear what his plans are or why he moved to Parrita, but, we’ll touch base with him and see if he shows any interest in pursuing this.

You can reach me on this list serve or on my work email at Neil@jamagency.com.

    Best,
    Neil Griffin — Washington, DC

Hi Stan, could you give me a little more information on your project? My wife and I are moving to CR in May and I am a builder. I am American and my wife Dainish. We have lived in Maui for a number of years then Colorado and now are in Denmark. Maybe we should talk? I might be able to assist you in more ways then one. Thanks Greg goravetz@gmail.com

stan- where exactly is your project? I own property between Bejuco and Parrita at Ranchos Las Lomas and will be down next month; I am not clear about what you are in need of. Presently I live in Florida but plan to return permanently to that area, I lived at Hermosa for four years and love the Bejuco area and will be building a house there very soon; I have many tico friends and family there, as well as gringos.
Are you needing a foreman to communicate with your workers? Elaborate if you want- good luck. Kristian mckeever
