We just put money on some land in Tambor thru owncostarica.com the developer is Monterra Development Group. Is anyone familiar with them?

We just got back from “officially” choosing our lot and we are so excited about our property. The entire experience – from landing in Tambor to touring the properties and surrounding area – was amazing. We talked to a few locals and it seems that Monterra is new to the area, but already buying up other properties to develop. Tambor seems to be booming. This is a great website. Thanks, Jane

March 18, 2007 at 12:08 am #182185CHERYLJKMemberCan you tell me exactly where Rios del Sol is in Tambor? Are there any signs once you get off the ferry? We will be in Tambor in May and would like to check it out.

Rahulthacker@verizon.netMarch 28, 2007 at 3:54 pm #182187speplerMemberI also just bought property from this company. I haven’t made the trip to Costa Rica yet to finalize my lot, but would love to hear more from other owners about other phases that might be coming on board soon, whether they think the lots will increase substantially in price (ie, whether they would be worth investing in purely for their potential increase). Thanks.

Directions from the resort (or Tambor airport) would be: Turn right (north) towards the Paquera Ferry, turn left at the sign for Vanilla which is 4kms. The property is above the village. Hope you get this prior to leaving!

We are extremely happy with our choice, and feel we paid a reasonable price. I personally think the area will have to develop significantly prior to seeing a substantial increase in its worth. The area has wonderful potential and the people are fantastic.

May 16, 2007 at 11:51 am #182191wilsonkeMemberOriginally we chose lot 27 which was 2.35 acres. I loved the idea of having a river at the back of the property and from the plan it was showing that there was a no build area next to us (my hope was for many large trees). When we got there we realized that the terrain was much more rugged than we had imagined and although the land was beautiful, it was quite shady being mostly in a ravine. A bungalow on that lot would not have been practical in my mind and we were planning on building two! When we got there Fred took us to see the original land chosen as well as land that another buyer who was with us was looking at. We went up going the next day as well and chose lot 56. The property is on the other side of the river close to the old lot 27. This backs onto the same area and has an ocean view. The lot is 4.75 acres and will be way easier for us to build two bungalows. So in the long run we got the best of both worlds the river and the ocean. Let me know how it goes if you don’t mind, you can reach me at wilske@bp.com. Thanks!
