Can anyone suggest a lawyer who does marriage and civil work with whom they’ve had a good experience somewhere between San Jose and Siquirres please?
May 3, 2007 at 12:37 pm #183299diegoMemberA “Costa Rican Lawyer”, that’s as good an oxymoron as a “Mexican airline!”
OK, just kidding – 1 in 10 are good, and here is one of them:
Marcella Garcia is great for your purpose. Her father is the best criminal attorney in Costa Rica and an outstanding human, not to mention a consummate gentleman. I have nothing but the highest regard for both of them and we have been through hell and high water together. This is not an add for a friend. If you want to get it done at a reasonable price she is the one. Tell Marcella that her dad’s gringo client from San Diego sent you and you will get special treatment.
They are in San Jose by the court house. Can you please tell me your name and I will call ahead for you.

email to them? Here is a fellow that is an expert on Civil and Taxes. He speaks english and he has an assistant Diana that is studying to be a lawyer. Diana speaks excellent english. They are also good with Developments and Concessions. Lawyer $100 and assistant $60 PLUS they have a toll free number out of Miami from Vonage that costs $35 per month flat fee.

What are you looking to accomplish?May 6, 2007 at 3:12 pm #183302apexitMemberDiego
I need a consultation with a Criminal Attorney about someone who violated the criminal code against me.
Also do they return your calls within a reasonable time?
Thanks
StanMay 6, 2007 at 11:24 pm #183303maravillaMemberI don’t get the oxymoron part with your two examples, because there can be a mexican airline and a costa rican lawyer, but there cannot be an honest politician — now THAT is an oxymoron.
May 7, 2007 at 11:33 am #183304diegoMemberStan,
There are specialists in different types of criminal law on many different legal echelons. There are criminal prosecutors and criminal defense attorneys. There are those that prosecute fraud etc. There are firms that handle both criminal and civil cases simultaneously. They prosecute the defendant outside the fiscal (district attorney) and get things done rather quickly and competently. Working outside the cumbersome CR penal system is recommended for quicker results.
Tell me your circumstances and I can help point you in the right direction. If there is a lot of money involved such as a land fraud case (estafa) you need a heavy hitter or it will take forever.

Actually I do not want to say much here on an open website. Send a note to Scott. He will explain.
What about the return of phonecalls?
Thanks

I sent a note to Scott and he indicated he did not know about any of this.
