    Does anyone know of any decent hotels in the Playas del Coco or Ocotal Areas? On our next trip down there, we’re going to visit this area and are looking for somewhere good to stay where we don’t have to worry about whether the A/C is going to work, etc. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

    I think your best bet is Ocotal Beach Resort in the Ocotal area. You should try staying at Villas Sol in Playa Hermosa, it is 5 minutes away from Coco Beach and they have very nice rooms.

    I normally stay at the Ocotal Beach Resort. The staff is great and the rooms are good and the ac works, even during the blackouts in late April/early May. It’s not a 4 star resort, but the owner is in the process of renovating it. (www.ocotalresort.com/)
    I have also stayed at Villa del Seuno in Playa Hermosa. It is smaller and not as quiet, but the food is better.

    Thanks to both of you for your suggestions…although their website says green season rates are $100 a night for a standard room, I got quoted $80 when I actually put the request in. Not too bad for a place as nice as this….
