We are planning a trip to CR in Feb of 2008 to inviestigate possibly relocating. We would like to rent for at least one month and use the rental as a base to search out various areas. Does anyone have any reliable contacts we could hook-up with? The areas we are interested in are towns in and around the Central Valley.
    Thanks

One month furnished rentals are very difficult to find unless you look at the ApartHotels… People typically rent properties for a three year rental contract.

Here’s a couple of those long-term, apartment hotel type arrangements …

    Most expensive: http://centralamerica.com/cr/hotel/vdelrio.htm
    Moderate priced: http://www.mariaalexandra.com/rates.htm
    http://www.casareflejoscr.com/suites.htm
    http://www.costarica-hotel.com/usa/index.html
    Lowest priced: http://www.conozcacostarica.com/vallecentral/hoteles/elsesteo.htm

You will normally pay a lot more than you would pay in a good B&B but you would have your own kitchen etc…

Please note that I have NOT stayed in any of these places… The only one that I have been inside is the top one Villas del Rio , which is lovely but, you are paying through the nose for their facilities.

REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN NEGOTIATE – Especially at this time of the year. Offer to PAY THEM CASH and the price may come down even more…

Our guest house is listed in the welovecostarica.com “Costa Rican Rentals” section. We’ll rent by the month, so please go there and send us an e-mail.
