Up until about 2 months ago the public was able to go to CRs Informe Registral website and view printouts of property ownership based on Finca number. I found this site to be incredibly resourceful. It was located here:

Its been down for a while. Was it relocated?
Scott- you probably used this often. Do you know what happened to it?
I have no idea what this site is mmessier2 and it does not load up for me but gives me an error message.
The main page for the Registro Nacional is http://www.registronacional.go.cr/Principal.htm I do not use it that much but the attorneys we work with obviously do…

The link I posted was owned by the same place as your link:
consultas.registronacional.go.cr
Hopefully I will be able to find the same information on your link. Thanks!
Mark
-EDIT
Here is a link to what I was looking for. With this link and the finca number you can look up any property in Costa Rica and verify the owner.

Sorry, many have attempted to use that site without success.
The folio number is 10 digits and there are 4 areas to enter
numbers below the province section.
Horizontal, #Finca, Duplicado and Derecho.
Those areas will accommodate 11 total digits.
I have tried several times and always receive ‘connection timed out’.
Do you have any suggestions?
Harvey
