means??
I know you cannot import gun’s to CR but my question is about Air Guns or pellet guns, maybe someone follows this hobby in CR. Are they allowed, permitted in CR?
Thanks

You can see some guns related articles at:

with 1,000 fps in .177 cal. you have a tack driver, none of my Diana’s RWS do those #’s because they are .22 cal. They are in the 700 – 850 fps using 14.3 gr. pellets but you cannot hide behind a quarter at 30 mtrs.

So if I want to take the gun registration courses that the articles describe and I need to arrive at 6:30 a.m. (recommended to ensure a spot in the classes), I’ll have to make the trip the day before and spend the night in San Jose UNLESS there is a similar program the the Valle de General. Does anyone know if this is the case? I have a feeling that I’ll be take be taking a lot of bus trips between San Isidro and San Jose before I get settled in Costa Rica.

April 11, 2008 at 12:42 pm #190240AndrewKeymasterI am not quite sure why you would want to visit any government offices. I do so only when I can not avoid it which might be about once per year…
There are numerous ‘poligonos de tiro‘ in Costa Rica where you can take the written and shooting examination.
According to Ministerio Seguridad Pública website at [ http://www.msp.go.cr/armas_explosivos/poligonos.pdf ]
The nearest poligono to you is in fact in San Isidro itself – San Isidro, de la iglesia de Barrancas 150M. Call Helberth Valverde Jimenez 2552-5822 or 2591-1944
Or there’s one in Cartago:
400M NE de Quebradilla en Cartago. Call Eduardo Carrillo Pacheco 2573-8264

I just assumed that I would need to for various processes connected to moving down and becoming a resident. I’m happy to hear that, if I do decide to get a gun license, I can do it without making the trip up north.
Thanks Scott,
Frank
