Hi all, I need to call my hotel back for reservation confirmation and the number appears on my phone as: 062-654-4242, I tried tacking a “1” on the front, but that doesn’t work, what do I need to do to call CR? thanks

they added a digit to their numbers. put a 2 in front of the 654 and that should get it. for cell phones add an 8 in the same place. you also must dial the country code.

    011 062 2654 4242. that should get it.

    No I don’t think that’s it… I don’t believe there are any 062 numbers here…

They listed the number as 062-654-4242 So to me it looks like THEY left off the number 5 at the very beginning in which case the real telephone number would 506 2654-4242

    Good luck!

Scott has it right I believe… chances are that your caller ID is only set up to handle 10 digits… so it dropped the first one… do as Scott said and you’ll be fine. This all assumes that the call was from CR and not a outsourced system somewhere in India!

Whoops… be sure to add the international dialing code 011 before you dial the number.

    Imxploring sounds right.

Reminder – Costa Rica has new phone #s:

ALL 7 digit numbers that started with a 3, 8 or now also 9 are cell numbers (& LOTS more expensive to call locally or international). They ALL now start with an “8” in front of them (or between the country code 506 & the phone #).

All other numbers now start with a “2”.
