The Costa Rican Constitutional Court mandated that judges must now define child support based on the real income of the paying parent and the actual needs of the spouse and children. The spouse is now included because child support and alimony are combined according to Costa Rican law.
This new mandate was implemented after the Constitutional Court granted a habeas corpus to businessman Jonathan Lambert, who was imprisoned for 52 days because he was unable to pay child support of $1,900 a month. This amount was far beyond his actual means. Approximately 113 people are currently imprisoned in Costa Rica for failure to pay child support.
Do you know if this is the same Johnny Lambert who is a Brit who worked here in the ‘online pharmacy’ business?
