    Mr Hugo Salazar
Is a renound Criminal attorney that I would recommend to anyone. He is a very hard worker and he does not charge $275 an hour like some attorney’s recommended here. Hugo uses yahoo messenger to talk to his non Spanish speaking clients. Sr Hugo as I call him, retrieved my corporate books back from my former lawyer and his wife by filing an action in criminal court last December. The prosecuter of the case delivered a court order last March to my former attorney to return the books to me in 5 days of the judge (Juez) will put him in jail. You see if you are wronged, Costa Rica’s Penal Code has more teeth. If you want Hugo to look over your case he charges $40US. His rates may have gone up but they are no where near what the highest law firm in the country charges. Scott should really ask Hugo to write an article here instead of the pricey firms. After all there are people of moderate means here as VIP members.

I am not aware of any attorney that charges $275/hour in Costa Rica! If anyone is paying the going US rate for a run of the mill attorney, they either have money to burn or no common sense. My attorney is recommended by this site and the rate is more like $60-$75/hour depending on what the work is.

    Sir
This is what the firm charges. This information was gathered by the people that do errands for people that don’t always live in CR. I emailed him this AM and had an answer within hours. Hugo knows Ed and Julia
Rates from $60-$90 for an assistant, $100 to $150 to little or medium experienced
attorney and $150 to $225 for senior members. They have about 42 attorneys in
    the firm.
I have had good CR abogados for $20 hr. or $95 a day

So I guess was wrong or is it close enough for CR Time?
Are you looking for property or a position? Ask Hugo about mine.

All their work must come from wealthy Americans that think they are getting a great deal at 50% of what they are use to paying. No es una sorpresa. 75% of the US Congress are attorneys. Law is a multi-billion dollar business and tort reform is a pipe dream.
