Hello. Can someone explain the process of transferring Electricity/Water bills from one name to another? I will be renting for 3 months and will need to transfer ICE bills to my name.
Thank you for your help.More trouble than it’s worth. You’d be better off leaving the accounts in the name that they’re in now and just paying them. Tons of people work it that way and there really isn’t a problem handling it that way especially since you’re only talking about doing it for a 3 month stay! Besides even if you want to, without residency or a S.A. to transfer them to the process might take all of that 3 months, only to have the owner have to transfer them back into his name!
I’ve got an electric and water bill that are still in the original owners name that I pay each month on a small farm I own and there’s never been a problem. At this point I guess I’m just to lazy or unwilling to stir the pot and have things become complicated! Sometimes it’s best to leave some things alone if they’re working!
They’re absolutely right. Don’t bother to transfer the accounts to your own name. ICE, AyA and the rest only want to be paid. They care not by whom.
And if you try to get the phone put in your name, you may find yourself on a months- or yearslong waiting list.
Just pay the bills and everyone will be happy.
