Paragon Properties Of Costa Rica I had an almost identical experience with these people as Jon from Kentucky described his experience.
I endured the same experience in 2007 as Jon from Kentucky described his experience in 2006. My wife was diagnosed with cancer soon after we had signed a contract and made a deposit on a lot in Costa Rica with these people, and we were not able to visit until near the end of the six month period. We did, however, make the visit PRIOR to the deadline.
When we requested a refund of our deposit, we were also told that it was too late. Our deposit was twice as large as Jon’s – $45,900! We also were told that the infrastructure would be in place within 18 months. Here it is 2 1/2 years later and it has not even been started. Their excuse is that it has taken this long to obtain the necessary permits!
They have called several times, offering a discount on the lot if we would go ahead and pay it off. This week, they called again and offered to discount it by over 25% if we would make an additional deposit or pay off the balance. We were skeptical and when I happened to check Ripoff Report and read Jon’s report, I was sure that we don’t want to give these people any more money without seeing infrastructure in place!
We decided when we visited that we do not want to live in Costa Rica. They had fed us the same line about property values appreciating so much in Costa Rica; so we said we would just wait until infrastructure was in place and sell the lot. It appears not that the infrastructure will NEVER be in place. It does not take 2 1/2 years to obtain permits to do anything, anywhere!
I am interested in being a party to a class action lawsuit against this company.

Worchester, Massachusettshi!
I’d like to join you guys with a complain about Paragon Properties!
not too long ago they contacted me and they told me if i pay off the remaining balance i’ll get 50% discount!
That was the point when i said to myself that there is something not right!
Since last summer there are no constructions in progress and they are giving
away huge discounts on the remaining balances!
And i already paid off 1 lot and still don’t have the documents of my lot!
First they told me 5-6 months to get the papers and now they say it takes
10 months to a year!
If someone wants to file a class action suit i’ll be more than happy to join!joe
