Anyone know if one has to have a formal certificate in teaching English in CR? I know that there are a few schools that teaches English – but pay is not great?
Is there opportunity to teach individuals eg business people.. Carene
Please read the rules and reg’s for living here at http://www.residencyincostarica.com and check the posts just below yours where it will explain, that you cannot legally work here until you are a Permanent resident.
Carene, the only way you could hope to teach English in Costa Rica legally, with or without some certification, would be to have your employer obtain a work permit for you from the Ministry of Labor. That can take a year or longer, and success is not assured. It would depend on their finding that there is a lack of qualified English teachers — and there is not.
