Would it help to mention where you are driving to Costa Rica from?

From Canada? From the USA? From Mexico? From Nicaragua?

Use extra caution going thru Laredo, the drug lords aare killing each other in the streets on a weekly basis,I live 3 hrs from there and its in the news often,If it were me,I’d spend thte night in Laredo TX and watch the news for an evening, then decide to forego my trip, once you get 4hrs past the border it’s a different more friendly world, are ya going thru aguas caliente’s?

Nope we are staying on the highways! Staying the night in Laredo and then speeding thru to Queretaro to spend the night.

I think if we cross the boarder early in the morning we shuold be good to go. We hope!

At this moment for planning it will take us two days from MN to Laredo. Spend the night and then leave early from Laredo; spend the first night just before Mexico City; then get down to the west cost spend the night, get thru the boarder early in the morning and two more days we will be in San Jose.

We just finished our big moving sale earned another $1,050. and gave a lot of things for free.

Next we are waiting for my daughters new passport, (her first one was when she was a month old so we needed a new passport photo).

Then we pack up and start heading down the road.

I do have a lot of people interested but the more the better.

That my friend sounds like an a nice Adventure. A bold, interesting, exiting MOVE.

I wish I could participate, just sounds like a thing you do in life and remember for ever.

Will keep you in my thoughts and please let us know when you arrive.

    warren

PS: one more thing, let us know how everything went from day 1 to the end of the trip. Should be a heck of a story. LOL

Today we decided to wait another week to see how the boarder in Mexico is doing. I talked to the Regional Security Officer in Matamoros and he told me the best place to cross is still Nuevo Laredo because it is safer to stay on the toll roads. At this time even the RSO isn’t able to venture out in most areas. He did give me hope though saying that if you stay on the toll roads and drive during the day you shouldn’t have problems. The drug cartels are not randomly shooting people.
