we are thinking of driving a motorhome from Calif to CR and putting it on our lot in Nosara
what do your think?
we have plentiy of time to travel south…the whole summer but wonder if it is allowable to put your motor home on property
do they sell motorhomes in CR? i don’t think i have ever seen one

OMG, promise that [b]when[/b] you do this, you will blog and post videos about it. What an adventure! As far as parking it on your lot? who’s gonna complain? Go for it!
I’ve seen a few motor homes around Guanacaste. I’m guessing but it’s probably safer to drive thorough Lybia than Mexico right now.

You need to consider if ‘someone’ will keep an eye on it and it’s contents when you have to drive for groceries?
Of course, it will depend on where it is… and who can see it parked.Oh Pleeeeeese….COME ON………”Motorhomes” in Costa Rica now???? Do we [b]REALLY[/b] need this. Motorhomes belong in Arizona or Utah or anywhere else in the U.S. but [b]COME[/b] [b]ON[/b]……..in Costa Rica??? Let’s not ruin the landscape.

We have some friends that drove from New York with a 5th wheeler and have it parked on their property while they are building their house. They have been living in it for two years and loving it. They said that it was a pain going across many of the borders. They did have two large dogs so many of the border guards did not even think twice about entering the RV. They do speak Spanish so that also helped a lot. Mexico is a much scarier place today than it was even two years ago so you might want to think hard about it. They were in their late 30’s when they did it so they were feerless.
I have enjoyed many adventures around the world. My recommendation would be, do lots of homework and more home work. I am retired military, with two combat tours; my main concern would be Mexico. The drug cartels and bandits are out-gunning and running circles around the Mexican Army, Marines and police. Remember, your motorhome, will be a big target, announcing, “I am a rich gringo.”
Don’t you just love it when gringos or other “forasteros” decide what is best or permisible for Costa Rica.
