If willing to head south towards San Jose I’d recommend a trip to Sarchi! Great quality handcrafted home furnishings made of beautiful wood! Limiting your search to the Liberia area will be expensive and provide a very narrow selection. The Do it center (Liberia) doesn’t have a very wide selection and is rather expensive.
Funny… but while shopping for condos in Hermosa and Coco I’ve been quite surprised to see the same furnishings in many of the homes. All Do it center purchases…. none of it particularly attractive or impressive. Having had numerous pieces custom made to size and style in Sarchi I can say it’s worth the time and expense. You can shop for yourself and you’ll find it’s cheaper than Liberia. I guess the prices charged at the Do it center are based on them being one of the only games in town!
A few years ago when the economy was doing well the Do-It Center was always bringing in new inventory, with the whole back area,kept full of nice items. Now, the back area sits empty…
Personally I would say, head for an [url=www.alisscr.com/tiendas.htm]Alis [/url] store located throughout ‘town’ and even ‘Pequeno Mundo’ which also offers some nice and inexpensive decor.
