Wal-Mart Expands in Costa Rica – 1,500 jobs
Wal-Mart Costa Rica announced that as part of their expansion process, they will have 1,500 different new employment positions available in Costa Rica.
The goal of the Wal-Mart Costa Rica’s first Job Fair held on the 25th & 26th November was to fill many of those positions at Hipermás in San Sebastián, San Jose.
Through a press release, Wal-Mart Costa Rica explained that there is job for professionals, for technicians and ‘operations’ jobs. The positions include managers, heads of department, area coordinators, specialized technicians, cashiers and Sales assistants.
Aquileo Sánchez, the Director of Corporate Affairs for Wal-Mart Costa Rica, stated that the job fair would give real job opportunities to mature people, students, Senior Citizens, single mothers and people with physical challenges.
In March 2006 Walt-Mart acquired the majority shareholding of Corporacion de Supermercados Unidos(CSU) ansd this group is part of the Central American Retail Holding Company (CARHCO) which Wal Mart acquired 51%.
