My husband, Fred, and I have been vacationing, as often as possible, which is usually only two times a year, in Costa Rica for the last six years. Before we ever went there, I researched numerous travel books, the newspapers and, of course, WeLoveCostaRica.com

We chose to make our very first trip to the Quepos and Manuel Antonio area. We have visited just about every area of Costa Rica over the years, but find ourselves drawn back to Quepos to end our trips on the majority of our visits.

We were married for forty years on this past December 6th and decided that was as good an excuse as any to make another visit to Quepos. We always stay at Villas Mymosa Vacation Rental Condominiums between Quepos and Manuel Antonio as our first trip there was exceptionally pleasant.

I made mention to Julia, the receptionist, when I emailed our reservation request, that we would be celebrating our fortieth anniversary with them, but I never, in a million years, expected the reception we got nor all of the extra care and thoughtfulness that all of the staff put into our stay there in December.

There were exotic flowers in every room of the condo from tiny arrangements to massive. There was sparkling wine in the refrigerator with glasses already chilled. We were thrilled, but it got even better.

We arrived on Friday, the fourth of December, but our anniversary wasn’t until Sunday, the sixth, and the staff of the condos host a barbeque two Sundays each month. As the time for the barbeque approached, Ron Blowers, the owner, came to the door and told us to please come over to the restaurant area as he had something that he just had to show us.

We went immediately, totally unsuspecting that we were in the process of being honored by these marvelous friends. Ron presented us with a beautifully decorated Tres Leches cake and then the band that was hired for the event, commenced to sing songs dedicated to us.

We felt so very special and will never forget that our precious friends in the most beautiful country, that we feel is our most special place in the world, did these things for us. The hospitality, friendship and caring we were shown was way above and beyond anything we could ever have imagined and I wanted your readers to know about all of the folks at Villas Mymosas.

We won’t be going back to Costa Rica until April or May of this year, but we do know, already, exactly where we will be staying.
