Something Was Killed On My Terrace

There was no dead body but you could clearly see the bloody footprints on the outside terrace
floor through my living room windows this morning.

There was blood on the rim of a large plant pot, on the arm of a chair and, more bloody footprints on the edge of the railing.

Would survival have been possible losing that amount of blood?

Nothing was there last night so this fight to the death must have happened early this morning.

But there were no fingerprints and no murder weapon to be seen…

Was the moment of death when the head struck the plant pot?

In a fit of remorse after the kill, did the killer stand on the railing and hurl himself down
ten stories to a certain death?

No evidence could be found below.

If you love a murder mystery, perhaps you can identify the murderer or, the victim by looking at the footprints which are 2cm long by 1cm wide?

But, we may never know…

I can tell you that about four weeks ago, I looked up from my desk to see a magnificent Osprey – who hunts for fish in the lake of Parque La Sabana – sitting on this same railing.

I was thrilled.

Unfortunately by the time my camera was out of it’s case, it had flown away but, my guess is that the footprints of an Osprey would be much larger than these…
