U.S. Ratchets Up Contra War II Against Nicaragua
Borrowing its war plan against the Sandinista government of Nicaragua from Ronald Reagan, George H W Bush, and Oliver North, the Obama administration has given a green light to two neighbors of Nicaragua — Costa Rica and Honduras — to ratchet up tensions on their borders with Nicaragua.
On October 18, 2010, WMR reported: “Costa Rican police and DIS personnel are allegedly involved in the cross-border [drug] trafficking. Currently, a Colombian bank is being used to buy up land along the Costa Rican-Nicaraguan border ostensibly for “tourist” purposes but the $2 billion project is designed to establish staging areas for renewed Contra warfare in Nicaragua if the Sandinistas remain in power beyond the 2011 election. The US private military contractor Dyncorp is also involved in providing assistance to the Contras using the cover of ‘humanitarian assistance.'”
On October 28, Nicaragua accused Costa Rica of staging cross border raids by Costa Rican paramilitary police into Nicaraguan territory. Costa Rica has been warning Nicaragua against dredging the San Juan River inside Nicaraguan territory. Costa Rica, which fancies itself as an ecological “green haven,” claims the dredging of the river is causing environmental damage. But as WMR previously reported, Costa Rica, which is backed by George Soros “civil society” agents of influence, as well as Israeli intelligence agents, is trying to paint Nicaragua as an aggressive destroyer of the environment.
On November 1, Costa Rica claimed that Nicaraguan troops had taken up position on Calero island in the San Juan River and which is claimed by both countries. Nicaragua claims that its troops are in the area to control drug trafficking from Costa Rica, which WMR previously reported involved Costa Rican police and intelligence personnel. In a statement published by The Washington Post, Nicaraguan Army chief of staff General Julio Aviles confirmed WMR’s previous report stating the drug trafficking from Costa Rica is controlled by an ex-patriate Nicaraguan family operating from San Jose, the Costa Rican capital.
WMR has also learned that the paramilitary operatives operating out of Costa Rica, including CIA and Mossad agents, are now looking at extending their destabilization operations into El Salvador, now governed by the leftist Farabundo Marti Liberation Front government of President Mauricio Funes, an ally of Ortega in Nicaragua. The tactic being used by the Chinchilla-Lieberman regime in San Jose is the same as that being used against Nicaragua: flood El Salvador with cocaine to increase drug gang warfare and instability.
Most of the drug smuggling from Costa Rica into Nicaragua and El Salvador is being conducted by Russian-Israeli mafiosi figures operating under diplomatic cover at the Israeli embassy in San Jose. Others officially operate in San Jose as “Russian Martial Arts” trainers, however, they are actually Israeli Defense Force “Krav Maga” trainers.
One of the Mossad suspects, now wanted by INTERPOL, in the assassination of a Palestinian official in Dubai was suspected of making death threats and engaging an an attempted kidnapping in Costa Rica but the Costa Rican government declined prosecution. The Israeli suspect’s false identity in the Dubai assassination is Kevin Daveron, born 2/2/1972, Ireland Passport 980975, alias Jonathan Lewis Graham (stolen identity from a United Kingdom passport.
Ex-Israeli commandos operating in Costa Rica with the blessing of Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman (not known to be a relation to Costa Rica’s pro-Zionist Vice President Luis Lieberman Ginsburg; Avigdor hails from Moldova while Luis is of Polish descent) operate under the cover of the Mossad-linked security firm Bitajon Shar, which has been connected, according to WMR’s Central American sources, to the destabilization efforts on the Costa Rican borders with Nicaragua and El Salvador.
Bitajon Shar has also been described as a Mossad pass-through to infiltrate Israeli security personnel into the counter-narcotics apparatuses of Colombia and Mexico, as well as Costa Rica.
On October 18, WMR reported on the Israeli involvement with drug smuggling into Nicaragua: “In Honduras and Costa Rica, customs officials now look the other way as Israeli private security personnel, mostly ex-Israeli commandos, guard half length trucks without license plates that are moving drugs and weapons from Honduras and Costa Rica into Nicaragua to support the new Contras gearing up to fight the Sandinistas prior to next year’s election.
Key border crossing points for the Israelis are in the Peñas Blancas National Park of Costa Rica and Cardenas, Nicaragua on Lake Nicaragua. The Penas Blancas area was a hotbed of Contra activity during the Reagan administration’s secret war against Nicaragua. On the Nicaraguan-Honduran border, an ex-Contra named ‘Comandante Jahob’ is planning to start an armed conflict against Nicaragua if Ortega does not leave office next year. Commandante Jahob, whose real name is José Gabriel Garmendia, is reportedly acting along with CIA and Mossad commandos in Honduras and with the knowledge of the Honduran regime imposed by the Obama administration last year. Old CIA bases in Honduras that once supported the Contras in the 1980s, are reportedly being reactivated.”

US & Israel’s Bloody Interference in Central America
- If you Google “Bitajon Shar” you’ll find that: Bitajon Shar is registered in Costa Rica as a private security company.
- “Another Israeli firm, Tahal Consulting, and the Israeli ambassador in San Jose, Costa Rica, David Tourgeman, were involved in providing further military logistics support to the contras in Costa Rica and Honduras.”
- The ServiCentro gas station in San José has the same fax number as Bitajon Shar in the company’s inscription documents in the Registro Nacional. Adjoining the gas station is a money transfer office specializing in sending money to Nicaragua and Colombia …
- Israeli Commandos with Experience in Palestine and Colombia are Training the Honduran Armed Forces.
- Many ask why Israel is interfering in the internal affairs of Latin American countries. Lieberman is said to have offered Mossad training to Colombia to complement existing CIA activities.
- Someday it may be precisely known how great a role Israel played in subverting the government of Costa Rica to accede to Washington’s use of its territory as a secondary base in the war against Nicaragua.
- For example, when Israel was heavily involved in supporting the Contras in Nicaragua, supporting and arming the Salvadoran government, arming the government in Guatemala, the solidarity groups in those particular arenas were predominantly Jewish, but they refused to take critical positions on Israel arming Salvador, Israel arming [the] Nicaragua [Contras], and Israel arming Guatemala.
- For Israel was almost certainly the intellectual author of the plot to make Iran pay for the war against Nicaragua and Israel had already been selling arms to the contras, training them, and otherwise helping Reagan to circumvent Congressional restrictions on the contra program.
- The Israelis were quick to take up the slack, and from September of that year until the following July when he was ousted, Israel sold Somoza 98 percent of the weapons he used against the Nicaraguan population. Those included not only Uzi submachine guns and “thousands” of Israeli-made Galil assault rifles, but large quantities of ammunition, surface-to-air missiles (the FSLN, the Sandinistas, had no air force), nine combat-armed Cessna aircraft and two Sikorsky helicopters, which Somoza’s Guard used as platforms for machine gun strafing. Sometimes they rolled 500 pound bombs out the helicopter doors.
- When the arms for hostage scheme was launched, it was facilitated by Israelis long involved in their government’s strategy of an alliance with Iran. Arms sales profits did not go only to the Contras. Some went to the Israeli secret service, Mossad…
- In Reagan government’s illegal war against Nicaragua, US citizen and CIA agent John Hull’s ranch in Northern Costa Rica serves as the main supply base for the contras on the Southern Front of Nicaragua. [Newsday, 5/10/87]. (John Hull was a friend of both Dan Quayle and George Bush. Dan Quayle even visited John Hull’s ranch in Costa Rica)) This cash came initially from the sale of cocaine, supplied by the Colombian Medellin cartel, smuggled from a private airfield in Costa Rica owned by John Hull and flown to the US for distribution.
- ABC Primetime Live airs Diane Sawyer’s interview with Carlos Lehder, a key figure in the Medellin cocaine cartel. Lehder names Hull as a major cocaine trafficker and says Hull smuggled 30 tons of cocaine into the United States yearly.
- Sen. John Kerry’s Foreign Relations narcotics and terrorism subcommittee releases a 1,200-page report, “Drugs, Law Enforcement, and Foreign Policy,” including testimony that Hull’s ranch was used for gun- and drug-smuggling operations. One eyewitness tell the subcommittee that Hull supervised the transfer of drugs into a plane before its return journey to the United States.
- Instead, Israel increased its covert support of the contras, shipping arms through the Guatemalan and Salvadoran military and providing trainers for newly-recruited contra mercenaries in their camps in Honduras and Costa Rica.
- The Israeli weapons helped prolong Somoza’s tenure, at the end of which his military was killing 500 Nicaraguans a day.
- In Guatemala, Israel also provided military, counterinsurgency, and intelligence advisers for what has been called a genocidal war against the largely Mayan Indian population of the country’s northwestern highlands.
- Israeli advisers who came to train officers of ANSESAL, the Salvadoran secret police originally established by the CIA and closely linked to the infamous death squads, remained in El Salvador as late as 1983.
- Israeli advisers appeared on the scene when the military government was engaged in killing and dispossessing the largely Mayan highland communities in an effort to squash the Indians’ support for a revolutionary movement inspired by the incredible inequality of land ownership. Over the following eight years, Israeli weapons and advisers helped the Guatemalan military halt the growth of the insurgency-by a mass carnage of at least 10,000 which some observers have not hesitated to call genocide.
- On 11th October 2001 retired Israeli Defense Forces colonel and presumed Mossad agent Salvador Guersson Smecke (aged 34) and Israeli illegal immigrant Saur Ben Zvi (aged 27) are arrested in the Mexican Congress Building in Mexico City. They had in their possession Pakistani passports in their names, nine hand grenades, sticks of dynamite, detonators, wiring and two 9mm Glock automatics. They were released following intense pressure from the Israeli Embassy.
- Hostile acts: U.S. policy in Costa Rica in the 1980s
- Israeli who allegedly trained Colombia guerillas released from prison in Russia. Lt. Col. Yair Klein wanted in Colombia on charges of training the ‘death squads’ released from jail and is on his way back to Israel. On June 22, 2001, the Supreme Tribunal of the Manizales district of Colombia sentenced Klein to 10 years and eight months in prison after convicting him of participating in the training and doctrine of illegal paramilitary groups. The Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said that: “I would like to go on record on this occasion with a protest against the ruling of this court in Strasbourg, which prohibited Yair Klein’s extradition to Colombia,” Santos said at an official event.
