You don’t often expect to hear world class musicians in a shopping mall but that’s where I first met the Costa Rican master guitarist Roberto Víquez and his American wife as he was sitting calmly focused only playing his guitar…




Born in San José, Costa Rica Roberto studied music at the conservatory at the University of Costa Rica and also received lessons from Andres Batista in Spain… Batista is a composer and titled teacher of flamenco guitar.







Roberto specializes in classical and flamenco guitar and in his 30 year professional career has appeared at most of the most prestigious cultural venues in Central and South America as well as numerous international guitar festivals.




Most of the compositions on the two music CDs that Roberto sells are his own…
