Costa Rica Crime and “Good, Honest People.”

VIP Member Keith Clower, his wife Becky and their young children have lived on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica for five years now and Keith says that; “knock on wood – we have never been the victim of a crime. ”

After returning from a short trip to the U.S., Keith lost something very important but, he ended up having a very pleasant experience at the caring hands of the staff at the Liberia International Airport.

Keith emailed me saying: “I’m writing this because I have a story that had a happy ending and gave me a feeling that not only was I lucky, but that many (I’d say the majority) of people here are good, honest people.”

Ten days ago I left an electronic device and an important note book in a large supermarket and returned a few hours later where not only did they have the two items, they had carefully placed them in an envelope with my name in big letters on it – ‘Don Scott.’

And last week, with her hands full of a lively young grandson, my girlfriend managed to leave her gold Visa card in a Santa Ana store’s cash machine… She only realized the following day and we returned to find it had been handed in to the store manager who happily returned it to her.

Three positive personal experiences with “good, honest people” in Costa RIca, all the in the same short period.

Yup! There are still plenty of good people (buena gente) around…
