Living in Junquillal, An Underrated and Tranquilo Little Community in Costa Rica. Video with Joan Inman, President of the Tierra Pacifica HOA.
“Hi! My name is Joan Inman. I’m here with Larita in Tierra Pacifica at Hotelito Si Si Si in Playa Junquillal, Costa Rica. I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia and I’ve been here seven years.
I think one of the things about this area that I think people maybe are missing it, it’s very underrated. There are so many wonderful things to do here. There’s surfing, paddle boarding, horseback riding, bicycling, and just anybody that wants to be outdoors would love this area. It’s just a great place to be. There are canopy tours.

There’s just any kind of activities and mostly because it’s not very rainy here, you can do them outside almost anytime of the year.
I’m President of the Homeowners Association here at Tierra Pacifica and I’m happy to say that we’re fully funded. Tierra Pacifica right now has 17 homes built and most people have come here with an environmental consciousness which is really a lovely thing to be with people that believe in that kind of thing. It’s just I really like the people who have bought here in Tierra Pacifica.
So we have great staff. We have guards, cleaning people, pool people and they all really contribute to our life here.
OK. My major difference I would say between living here and living in Atlanta Georgia is for example right now I have no shoes on. I practically have no clothes on because it’s so warm. It’s just a great place to live. You can get by with one piece of clothing instead of five pieces of clothing everyday.
One thing that I love about here is the fact that I can eat so much healthier. The fruits and veggies here are phenomenal. Today I just got an order of, well, $80 worth of certified organic kale, bok choy, strawberries, everything, everything you can imagine. Just super healthy eating and grass-fed beef, really great stuff.
What I love about Junquillal is I love sports. I love to walk. I love walking on the beach. I’m totally safe here. I go paddle boarding down the estuary with the crocodiles. They don’t bother me either and bicycling in the areas is great and it’s a great place for activities and that’s one of the things that helps keep somebody healthy. It’s just having lots of fun things to do outside.
I would say to anybody who’s thinking about coming and investing in Costa Rica, to come here and take a look. We have a great community that we’re not talking about preconstruction.
We’re talking about a community that’s established, that has roads, water, pool. Not just a gate like a lot of other communities. We have a fully functioning community and I would just say come here.
Stay at Hotelito Si Si Si. I will show you around and you can get a good idea of what’s involved with living here. I wouldn’t come here and just buy. I would come and stay for a while and you will get a great idea of what your life might be like.
