Living in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica Video with Betty and Dawson Grove
The Owners, Dawson and Bette Grove, came to Costa Rica from Maryland in 2003 looking for a vacation spot they could enjoy with their family of four grown children, their spouses and grandchildren and found a home.
Dawson and Bette love to travel — Dawson has visited all seven continents and Bette has visited six — but Costa Rica has claimed their hearts. Be sure to say hello to them when you visit. They love to hear from their guests and help you have the best time in Costa Rica.
Their original goal for their retirement was to move to Arizona and play golf for the rest of their lives. Well it did not turn out quite how they planned thanks to their son telling them they should go to Costa Rica for a visit. Well they took their sons advice and the rest is history. They are a good example of life in Costa Rica for EXPATS.
By the way they recently opened a beachfront B&B called La Gaviota Tropical that also has a Beach front Bar and Restaurant called Roberto’s Make sure you watch the second video where they talk about how they came up with the idea for their dream business.
Of course make sure you stop by Roberto’s and say hi to Bette, Dawson or Roberto and send your friends to stay in one of their super deluxe rooms.
La Gaviota Tropical is right on the beach in Playa Hermosa and has 5 Suite Rooms, a Roof Top Ocean View Pool, a full Restaurant and Bar, secure parking and an elevator with full handicap access.
La Gaviota Tropical Boutique Guest House opened in May 2013 after four years of planning and nine months in construction. We offer five unique, classy and comfortable rooms, each decorated in its own tropical theme.
We are located on the beach in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, 20 minutes from the Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia. Playa Hermosa is a family-oriented beach with small waves, making it perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, paddle boarding and kayaking.
You can see their La Gaviota Tropical B&B Playa Hermosa video here below:
The location is also good as a base for taking day trips to see beautiful waterfalls, the Palo Verde National Park (where you can see white-faced monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, and many other animals and birds close up), horseback riding, tubing, canopy tours (zip lining), fishing and surfing. During your stay, we guarantee an adventure a day — or the time to relax and enjoy what we have to offer here at La Gaviota Tropical.
