Real Estate Investors in Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva and Manzanillo Delighted About New Water Pipeline.
After eight years of waiting, construction of the new water Aqueduct has started.
¢ 6 million (US$ 11,278) is being invested to supply pure drinking water to 20 communities with a population of over 14,000 in Limon Province in the Canton of Talamanca, Costa Rica. The project is being financed by the National Water Utility, Aguas y Alcantarillas (AyA), CR’s Fund for Social and Family Development (FODESAF) and the German Development Bank (KFW). Source:
Our little beach communities of Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva and Manzanillo will share the benefits of the new water pipeline with inland settlements, benefiting small landowners and investors that are thinking of investing in their own little piece of paradise.
In addition to strengthening year-round security of supply, the new system will improve the quality of drinking water by eliminating trace minerals such as iron and manganese with various other benefits to public health and enhanced local management of water resources.
In marked contrast to the Pacific side of Costa Rica, which sadly suffers from historical levels of drought related to long term changes in rainfall patterns, this project means our coastal communities will be blessed with stable and secure supplies of pure drinking water for the future.
