Africa Safari Adventure Park in Costa Rica? It’s fun for all the family!
I hadn’t been to Africa Safari since they were known as “Africa Mia”, so it had been a while….. It had been about a two year hiatus, so I figure I’d go back.
Africa Safari is a great tour to do–especially if you have children. My boys, 4 and 7, were excited to go back and ‘feed the giraffes’ as they told me. I was in for a treat because the tour had changed, for the better.
Once we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and told about our options. The Adventure Park will soon have more than just the typical safari through the savannah of Guanacaste, but they will soon have a zip line.
Other tours offered are ATV tours as well as a hike to the El Salto waterfall. While I did not go to this 50 foot waterfall, I would recommend it for sure!
We got into a covered wagon pulled by a tractor which was a lot of fun. (That was half the adventure…. Being pulled by the tractor!). Over the course of 90 minutes we were driven around hundreds of acres of land and got to see animals up close, not like you would at the zoo.
They roam freely and come up to the vehicle looking for carrots. You buy the carrots for about US$1 per bag. There are a variety of animals such as ostrich, zebras, camels, giraffes, wildebeests and more!
Africa safari also has a restaurant, on site gift shop and they also has a photographer that follows you taking pro photos in case you want to purchase them at the end of the trip! Getting to Africa Safari is easy, it’s located in the town of El Salto, about 15 minutes south of the city of Liberia.
I live in Flamingo, so it took me about an hour and 15 minutes to get there. This is an easy day trip for anyone to do and driving yourself is rather easy as it’s right off the Panamerican highway (Route 1).
On the Safari vehicle or by cart you will be able to enjoy this wonderful experience full of adventure while having full access to the entire park. Our tour will be entering the savannah, passing through beautiful natural trails that will allow you to admire the animals in their natural habitat.
On this adventure you will be able to feed, touch and interact with amazing species, such as giraffes, zebras, wild boar, ostriches and many other incredible animals.
On this unforgettable trip you will also be able to bathe at the foot of the El Salto waterfall, which is recognized for its natural beauty.
