Led by the President of the Republic of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla, 18,000 people walked from La Merced to the La Sabana park to promote breast cancer awareness.
According to Victoria Gamboa Ross, 30% of breast cancer cases are preventable.
La Presidenta Laura Chinchilla said that: “The woman is usually more concerned about the health of others and less careful of her own. With very little effort one can prevent breast cancer. All of us can start to pay more attention to ourselves”.
