Build Your Own Vacation or Retirement Home Part XXIII. 23 weeks and US$73,997.09 invested in construction so far.
We’ve had precious little progress this last week as our contractor’s truck broke down, he had to order a special part which took a few days and, as you can clearly see from the main photograph above, it has also been raining very heavily.
The propane gas laser water heater has been installed in the pila area with the outside sink – or the pila. This is also where the washer and dryer will be installed when we’re ready.
The bathroom mirror has been put up as well and the shower doors have been installed.
My girlfriend, who simply can’t wait to spend a few well earned restful nights up at the mountain, has started testing positions for the living room furniture.
We have yet to install the kitchen furniture so I hope there won’t be too much dust flying around …
This week they should be installing the bathroom cabinet and sink as well as the kitchen cabinets and sink.
