Building Your Own Home Part XXVI. The kitchen has been painted!

Once in a while you watch a movie that reminds you just how lucky you are in life that you ended up with the partner that you have…

So after watching ‘The Exorcist’ I’m sitting there thanking my lucky stars that
my girlfriend can’t do that thing where her head spins all the way around – 360 degrees – on her shoulders while frothing at the mouth…

But seriously, I am a very lucky guy.

Our long time VIP Members will know that a few months ago we finished building our vacation home in the mountains of Costa Rica…

We built a 1,797 square feet vacation home (plus 462.68 square feet for the garage area, pila and bodega) on 5,000M2 of land and fully furnished it for less than US$140,000!

The one thing that we had not finished at the end of our 26th article was painting the kitchen because my girlfriend wanted to do it after everything else had been completed and all the dust had settled – and swept away…

I knew she had some artistic talents but did have some doubts about how this might turn out but we are both thrilled with the results.

Our previous log styled home had a green kitchen and our new home? Red!

She has deliberately painted it in a rustic style and to top it all off, she painted the screen you see that separates the kitchen sink area from the rest of the kitchen.

I am very proud of my girlfriend and will keep that screen – and her – forever!
