“Ocean waters just as warm as they should be” were among the qualities that stirred the enthusiasm of California resident Jim Roosakos. In July 2009, VIP Member of WeLoveCostaRica.com Mr. Roosakos purchased a one-bedroom residence in a beachfront luxury condo-hotel project in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica.

Mr. Roosakos, looking for a retirement option, took his first trip outside the United States to check out Costa Rica. “I immediately loved the country, the town of Jaco, the project, and the warm ocean temperature,” he said.

“In California we have plenty of beaches, but the waters are cold. The water temperature is much lower than in Central America, where it’s almost like a warm bath to go swimming. Costa Rica is what it should feel like to swim in the tropics!”

Mr. Roosakos also appreciated the open-minded and carefree society that he found in Jaco. “Costa Rica seems to have fewer rules and more freedom for the individual,” he observed. “And it’s a beautiful country, geographically very impressive.”

During his stay in Costa Rica, Mr. Roosakos also found the Costa Rican people very friendly. “This is exactly what I’d been dreaming of and looking for, for many years,” he said. “And the project’s rental program gives me the option to live here, or be in Costa Rica part-time while renting out my unit during the times I am elsewhere.”
