Costa Rica Construction Sector Looks Much Brighter In 2010
2009 was a tough year for the construction sector in Costa Rica with 5,580,000M2 of construction permits was approved which was 36% less than 2008
The situation in 2010 looks much brighter with the Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos (CFIA) recently reporting that the number of construction permit applications in January 2010 rose to 631,545M2 from 411,081M2 in January 2009
Residential real estate makes up the vast majority of new construction permits and, there is clearly more construction going on in the San Jose area than any other.
