Costa Rica is fast becoming a world-class destination for golf. Los Sueños Marriott Beach and Golf Resort is a two hour drive from San José. Hacienda Pinilla, Paradisus Playa Conchal Resort de Garre de Leon, the Royal Pacific, and the Four Seasons Resort featuring the Peninsula Papagayo Arnold Palmer course are all located on the northern Pacific Coast.

Playing a round at the beach can be a thrilling getaway, but difficult – logistically and economically – for a weekly game. The costs at the beach golf courses can be expensive since the resorts and country clubs target tourists.

Just a little over 25 years ago, the Country Club was the only course in town.
Today, golf can be played at Parque Valle del Sol, a beautiful 18 hole public course; Los Reyes, a nine hole private golf course; or Meliá Cariari Country Club an 18 hole championship course located just 15 minutes from downtown.
