Costa Rica Health Care System Helped Retired Gringa with Breast Cancer – Video interview with Les Waggoner (9 of 10)
After arriving in Costa Rica with plans to sit back, relax and enjoy their retirement in Costa Rica, Les Waggoner’s wife Donna was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2009.
Donna was treated in a Costa Rican hospital in the state health care system known as the CAJA and is now cancer free.
Costa Rica Health Care Insurance Costs:
The costs of health care for Les and Donna has increases slightly but in total – for the both of them – Les and his wife pay US$95 per month for the their health care coverage in Costa Rica.
Understandably, Les believes that: “…the medical system – I think – is great down here.”
