After I wrote that, I realized that the last time I bought a refrigerator was more than 20 years ago. So for the hell of it, I visited the appliance section on my weekly Home Depot run yesterday and Man! are refrigerators outrageously expensive these days or what? The cheapest I saw was for $727 (for a rather small 17 cu. ft. model) and went up to $3200. $3200.00 for a refrigerator! The average price for the ones I saw at Home Depot was over $1500.00.
