International Companies operating in Costa Rica are now looking for 7000 new employees.
42 corporations in the fields of medical services and other industries expect to fill 7,000 positions available, at a job fair on the 10th, 11th and 12th of February. The companies are looking for employees over 18 who speak English, French, Portuguese, Danish or German.
The academic areas of interest are accounting, finance, engineering, administration, customer service, web design and software. There are also positions in technical support, electronic engineering and microbiology.
Arthrocare, http://www.arthrocare.com, which currently employs 1,050 workers, is heading for an expansion in the next year and a half and is looking to hire 20 to 30 more employees who are bilingual and have degrees in industrial engineering, business administration and electromechanical engineering.
Companies that are continually expanding in Costa Rica are Amba Research, Amway, APL, BASS, Citi, DHL, Curtiss Wright, Dole, Emerson, HP, IBM, Western Union and Arcus, Aegis, Amazon, Convergys, Dell, Startek, Teleperformance, Experian, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Deloitte, Hospira, Covidien, Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, SMC and Arthrocare.

Another crystal clear example why our young people MUST learn a second and if possible a third language to help them succeed…

unfortunatly; most of these jobs are at a CALL CENTER level. My son worked at one of them with HP in Heredia and he tells me it was not a job where you can get promoted easily and the salary is a little more than average.

I’m 40, so rather screwed on that one until can retire and learn Espanol by immersion….if at that, though plan to make every attempt…..
