You can use a service like http://www.EarthClassMail.com which allows you to see all of your mail on your computer screen. You can view the outside of the envelope and have any mail you want them to open to be opened, scanned and shown on your screen.
You can read all of your mail on your computer screen and trash all of your junk mail with one keystroke.
You can have items scanned and emailed to you or forwarded to your real address. They only open what you tell them to and can trash or shred the rest… great if you get a lot of junk mail. They will even keep the original of any mail you tell them to for up to two years.
The price runs from about $12 to $50 a month depending on how much mail you expect to get. They have addresses in 19 different US cities for you to choose from. They offer a free 30-day trail, so it would really be great for short visits.
Just another option to consider.
I just spend two wonderful months in Dave Murray’s guest house and this service would have been great for me. (I’m looking forward to getting back to Costa Rica.)
