I have a cute cabina I would like to rent long term to somebody. It is next to my house up the mountains near Turrialba. Nearby is the Pacuare River, famous for white water rafting. The cabina is located on a 4 acre farm with fruit trees, waterfalls and tilapia ponds. It is furnished, built out of Laurel and would be comfortable for one or two persons.

I don’t know where to advertise it to reach a lot of foreigners. When I look at the listings on Craig’s list, they all seem to be very expensive homes for rent near the beach.

I think this area is great for someone wanting quiet, maybe a bird watcher or an artist, but not limited to those.

My farm is located on the side of a mountain without any neighbors nearby so it is quiet and has a view of the valley below. Bus service is easy below in the town of Tuis.

Also I am not sure what to rent it for, but to get someone long term I am thinking $350 a month.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Steve

You haven’t mentioned the size of the cabin at all Steve (M2) or whether it has electricity, hot water or internet access?

We have had many affordable rentals in the rentals section of this site but, they get rented so we take the listing down….

Both of the testimonials you can see at [ https://www.welovecostarica.com/public/department53.cfm ] are VIP Members who still have their rentals homes occupied…

As for $350 rent – I don’t know but, if you can answer the questions above I’d be happy to give you a more educated guesstimate…

    Scott,

It is 45 meters squared, has electricity, the hot water is the typical electrical shower head, has a large fridge, gas stove, tile floor. Internet access is through the 3g data card, although i am getting a zoom 3g wireless router so the whole area hss internet.

I’ll check out your rental section. Thanks for answering.

In which case I would suggest that $300 – $350 per month is probably a good range …
