Please feel free to post all the URLs in this forum where we can see the details of their “completed projects in Palm Beach County Florida.”
I would be happy to take a look and, if there is indeed proven experience, I would be glad to rethink our strategy for Costa Developers…

Will Esterillos become famous for scams ??? Let’s hope not, the future will tell us….March 8, 2007 at 4:57 am #181772geminigioMembercheck your facts, Costa developers has completed residential Developements in the United States. The information is easily obtainable and a matter of public record so I suggest you do some research before making false statements in writing , which is against the law, it is called LIABLE…For starters you can check out the projects they completed in Palm beach County Florida in the 80’s and 90’s, very easy to access this info. I’d like to see you post an apology for false staements once you get the facts.

I have been exploring buying property in CR for about 2 years, and have contacted realtors and developers regularly during that time. I have generally been treated with respect and have received very good information from most of them. However, I had a very upsetting experience with Costa Developers. I was planning to tour properties in the central and south Pacific regions in February, 2007, and contacted Costa about a possible tour of their Esterillos-area properties. They have a very proscribed method of showing their properties, and they required that I spend 2 days with them, staying in the hotel they arranged, and going on their transportation to view the properties. When I told them there was no way I would spend 2 days with them, since I was very limited on time and had a very full schedule of appointments, the salesman hung up on me. That makes me very suspicious that they are so controlling and inflexible in their working with potential clients. I also find it curious that they have so little property developed behind their impressive entry gates. I guess they are using their purchasers’ money to develop their roads and other infrastructure, rather than developing that infrastructure to insure their clients that the infrastructure will be built, and built in a manner that is acceptible to the clients. I eventually bought a piece of property in a development in the Lake Arenal area where the infrastructure is in place and can be viewed by the client to determine if the development will meet his expectations and requirements. I just don’t trust Costa Developers, and from looking at their inaction on building the infrastructure, I believe I was absolutely correct to distrust.March 14, 2007 at 5:43 pm #181776AndrewKeymasterSorry to hear that you are upset OmniShare but many land sales and time share companies operate in the exact same way. For obvious reasons they want to have you with them and be in total control while you are here which will increase the probability that you will buy from them and not be able to spend time with, and buy from their competition.

WeLoveCostaRica.comMarch 14, 2007 at 6:35 pm #181777MSG1014MemberLast summer I walked in Paragon’s office in the San Jose area , with a realtor from Costa Rica, and they did not even want to deal with me. The looked very surprised to see anybody. All of their sales are handled out of Florida on the telephone. When they get you to Costa Rica they do try to control your time and movements. These people act in a very suspicious manner.
March 15, 2007 at 8:41 pm #181778flyboy52MemberThat’s because they use the same high pressure sales tactics, that’s the only suspicious part…

WeLoveCostaRica.comMarch 31, 2007 at 7:23 pm #181782CBlommel43MemberI will add more later when I have more time, but for now know that my experience with Costa Developers has been nothing but positive. I have read everything above and appreciate the comments that have been made to this point and want to see more. Sooo much emotion here – it’s kind of concerning. We NEVER felt the pressure that has been expressed here and in fact, experienced the opposite: very professional, very courteous. I can’t wait to get back to Costa Rica to see the progress that’s being made. I have stayed in fairly close contact with one of the guys on staff at Costa Developers and have received pictures showing the progress of the roads in Montana – perhaps more complete pictures than what is available on their website. It definately shows progress and is stunning.
I would ask the Costa Developer detractors if they have any more recent information that may be of interest to everyone. The legal issues of the manager are well documented here…just looking to see if there is anything new.

April 5, 2007 at 1:22 pm #181784geminigioMemberI’m posting this message today to inform prospective buyers and those who have already bought property in Costa Rica. By now you have read many of the negative and positive comments that members have made about different developers in CR. Many of us “agree to disagree” as to which developers are good and which ones are not. I purchased 3 lots from Costa Developers in December 2006 and my experience has been good. Recently my wife and I decided to invest further in CR property and contacted 6 companies at random (I will not mention names here, but anyone who wishes to know who I’m talking about can contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss my experiences with the companies.)
what I can tell you is that at first I thought Scott Oliver’s opinions were rather harsh and one-sided when it came to who he would recommend and who he would not, but that has changed significantly. I recently contacted a company who is recommended by Scott Oliver on this website and they were the most professional and courteous, no pressure companies that I have been in touch with and it makes a very big difference, chances are that I will do business with this company over the other 6 I have recently had the experience of talking to.
Like I said, I’ll be happy to talk to anyone interested but I will not put anything in writing here in this forum because my experiences were just too, too negative and I don’t want any backlash from anyone.Good luck to all of you,
